Silver sounds like galvanized steel. You can replace them with brass. Terry : I'm installing copper supply plumbing for a basement bathroom. The 3-inch stub-outs for the existing toilets in my home are silver. : I'd rather not have exposed copper even for the toilet supply. At the risk of asking a stupid question, are the copper stub-outs for the existing toilets just painted silver or am I looking at a threaded pipe nipple similar to what joins the shower supply plumbing to the shower head?
