: Connect the drain and tailpiece to the pipe first, and then install the overflow.

: : I have been trying to replace a bathtub drain assembly (overflow, waste water and tailpiece), but, there
: : does not seem to be enough space to put the entire assembly in. I can get the waste water+tail piece
: : or overflow+tailpiece but not waste water+overflow+tailpiece. It is a bronze Gerber assembly in a house
: : with a slab foundation. Looks like I may have to pull the entire bathtub to put it in. Looks like when the
: : original assembly was put in it was somewhat forced.

I tried connecting the drain and tailpiece first then
the overflow. Still could not get the thing to
work. I finally threw the brass fixtures as far
as I could (not really, may need the parts) and
bought a plastic drain assembly. Had it installed
in a few minutes. Thanks for the advice anyway!
