: When a second floor sink drains and its cool or cold outside
: and the drain water is warm or hot. The wall where the pvc drain
: pipe runs sounds like some on is hitting it with a hammer while the
: water is draining. No other devices cause this noise. I have opened up
: the wall and all I see is a 3" pvc pipe? can someone tell
: me what causes this hammer noise and how to correct it?
: thanks

:Home Depot has a anti-hammer unit that attaches to the waterline at the water heater. It lookslike
a propane tank. They have different type for apps.
