toilet flange installation for remodel

I am remodeling a bathroom and I need to install a toilet flange on the existing cast iron waste pipe.
The existing pipe had the original flange cut off at floor level by a plumber. The remaining pipe looks
to be 4 inches in diameter.

I looked at different plumbing supply stores but it was not clear how I would attach a new flange
to the existing pipe or even what type of flange to use.

I heard something about plumbers using molten lead to make this type connection but I have not found
any information regarding this.

So, can someone fill me in on how this is accomplished.
