My sprinkler system will not pull water from the canal that it feeds from. I tried priming the pump by running water in the well by attaching a hose to the valve connected to the well. After letting the well filled and starting the pump it would only give a short spray and then quit. Can the valve on the pipe that is on the tip surrounded by a screen become worn out and stick, thus not allowing the water to flow.
