Okay, I'm not very handy. I'm trying to replace the toilet seat but cannot get the old seat off - what's the secret? I've tried turning what I thought were plastic-type nuts counter-clockwise, using a pair of plyers, but to no avail .... it only tore up the plastic nuts.
