We live in a 5 year old home. We had to replace an unbearably noisy gas water heater 18 months ago. I mean, this thing would junp up and down. Our 18 month old unit is now doing the same thing. We have terribly hard water in our area (Houston, TX). I suspect the only solution is to install a water softener this time. Any other solution? Can this unit be saved? Thanks for any input. By the way, I loved the story about you and Mr. Microsoft!
