The amtrol catalog shows the expansion tank installed on the cold water line coming to the water heater. Is there any reason why it could not be installed on the hot water pipe? If the cold side is preferred, why? : What are expansion tanks for, I just installed a gas water heater and heard about them and wondering if I needed one. Thank you........ :
