Basement floor drain

We have a floor drain next to the sump pump sump area. We assume it is for an overflow should the
sump pump fail.

When the builders completedthe house they must have allowed debis such as nails, small rocks or
chat and soil to clog up the drain.

Can you tell us how this debris can be removed?

Do some of the professional drain cleaners have equipment to attack these kinds of problems?
