If it turns, but just hums, then the starting circuit is defective.Unless it is still under warranty, it is not worth the labor cost to repair it.
: My disposal does not work. It just hums like something is jammed in it. However, I am able to turn the plates while inserting a wrench into the hole at the bottom of the disposal. Therefore, it does not seem like anything is jammed in the disposal. Any ideas on what may be causing the problem and more importantly how I could remedy the situation?
