repairing antique fire clay pod footed bathtub

I have what I believe is an antique pod footed fire clay pod footed tub. It is definitely some sort of molded composite material--probably clay.
composite material--probably clay. It does not have an overflow, and it probably needs a new drain.
Does anyone know anything about repairing (reusing) and refinishing this kind of tub?
