There is no uniformity among valves. Each one will only work with the trim for that brand and sometimes just that model.
: In a new house being built for me, a Symmons valve was installed for the shower/tub control when the bathroom was rough plumbed. Can anyone tell me if basic Moen, American Standard or Price Pfister controls purchased at Home Depot or Lowes can be used over this type of valve?
