| In response to Re: Satellite TV Installer Drilled Through Plumbing Pipe | |

The best repair may be to cut it at the point of the hole and slide a Fernco coupling onto the pipe and then line the pipes back up and slide the Fernco over the hole and, finally, tighten the hose clamps at each end. : I believe its a drain pipe (installer reported water on drill bit). I assume this is "worse case" than a vent, but what are we facing (it's a vertical pipe, so I'm assuming quick water flow through it). Thanks! : : : : We just had a satellite TV system installed in our home and the installer managed to drill through both sides of a plastic drain pipe. His company is going to get a plumber to repair it, ostensibly by installing a sleeve over the damaged area. My question is "what is a satisfactory fix in this type of situation?" I don't want a leaking pipe several months or years in the future. Any advice about what we should look for? Thanks.
