: I have a problem that can't be unique. Apparently, sometime in the last century, toilets were redesigned, with the waste discharge moved from the front to the middle, apparently so that only two mounting bolts are now required. However, replacing the older models with the new design moves the whole toilet forward eight inches or so, and in a small bathroom, leg room suffers! It is really not practical to relocate drain (mud floor). Does anyone still make a four-bolt toilet that will sit closer to the wall, or is there another solution I haven't thought of?
Joe,
Most toilets come with 12" rough, that is 12" from the back wall to the drain.
You can also get toilets in 10" and 14" rough.
A 14" in your case would help some.
