Sump Pump Eminating Heat

We have had a lot of rain. My sump pump motor is making noise and I can feel heat eminating from the cover. The cement around the cover has expanded noticably. I have not had any water coming out of the pipe on the outside of the house however. I additionally noticed water droplets condensing on the bracket bracing the pipe coming out of the sump pump right above where the opening on the cover is - the same spot where the heat is coming from. Is this normal?
