The landlord's home insurance should cover the cleanup. Or if you have renter's insurance that could also cover the cleanup and repairs. : My sewage backed up in the basement saturating the carpet and the layer of plywood sandwiched between two layers of lan. tile flooring.(Hahaha!) : I have already spent 2 days shoveling and and vacuuming and have reached the damp, porous concrete. : I tried to mop it but the surface is too rough. : Another note: I RENT this place and can't afford to have a professional cleaner come in.
