The traps should stop the sewer gases from coming into the house. Make sure your vent goes thru the roof and is away from windows as per code. A main house trap may help but is a large project unless done by a pro. JMHO. : It seems as if I can always smell sewage in certain parts of my upstairs rooms. I feel that somehow, the gases are coming back into the house. I do not feel it's coming back from outside, but rather up through the sinks and toilets. : I've asked this a few times to other people and no one can really give me an answer -- HOW DO YOU TEST YOUR SEWAGE VENT TO BE SURE IT IS WORKING ADEQUATELY? What can be done to eliminate the odor?
