Cast Iron Bathtub Insulating?

Thanks for reading my question.

I am remodeling the bathroom in our home.
We are reusing a American Standard cast iron bathtub.
We will soon be reinstalling the tub in to its spot.
The tub will need to be leveled using 2X4's.
How do you find out the proper height for the supports?
Also, is there a way of insulating the tub to hold heat more efficiently?
