: I am replacing our existing shower tiles with an acrylic or fiberglass shower enclosure. What is the best way to remove the tiles? There is also a chance that I will be replacing the wall board due to water damage. I am not too worried about damaging the wall board while taking the tiles off if that makes it any easier.

Removal of the wallboard is a good idea. I use a sawzall and cut out the wallboard. This allows me to inspect the wood behind and repair and strengthen behind before installing new backer board. Terry
