|In response to Re: ruined threads in Price Pfister seat|
Buy a new Price Pfister bath/shower valve with the ceramic stems. Throw away your seats in the hot and cold sides, (leave the diverter seat in place), and install the new ceramic stems in the valve. You have to buy the entire unit since the new flanges will connect differently than the old ones did. The new stems will last almost forever and you will only have to turn them 90 degrees to get full flow.
: My twenty-plus year-old Price Pfister bath/shower cold-water valve has ruined threads for the valve seat. I have to replace the gaskets and seats every couple of years because of the minerals in the water and I can no longer tighten the seat into the valve body.
: Is there some way to put a thread replacement kit into the body -- I obviously don't want to have to pull out my bathroom walls and remove the fiberglass bath/shower stall.
