Removal of the bowl will be needed. You may have to replace the toilet flange, or at least the metal ring that the bolts attach to. You can buy replacement metal rings, both the kind for lead bends, over the flange type, or if you are handy you can cut the metal ring off of a ABS closet flange with metal ring.
