You had air in your lines. The fact that the water did not make it to the end of the lines means that they weren't leaking air either, which is just as good (as long as any isolation valves were open). Call it a success and hook up your fixtures.
: I ran my supply lines for my bathroom and capped them off to test for leaks. There were none. But when I removed the caps I expected to find some water but didn't. Is that normal? Or do I have another problem to deal with?
