The pipe used in those days was designed for lead/oakum joints. They will normally be the wrong size and/or too corroded for a Ty-seal type gasket. : I removed a 2" cast iron pipe from a hub and was about to use a Fernco 2" donut, but it falls into the hole. The house was built in 1929 and seems to have pipes larger than the SV grade more commonly used today. Is there a fitting made for these larger hus?
