|In response to Re: Garbage disposal stuck on...|
The switch is turned off by a spring and the little rod that the spring pushes on is getting stuck. The seal is getting too tight and the spring cannot push it out.
: My kitchen garbage disposal is a GE which came with the house, and is about 6 years old. It works with a keyed drain plug thingy (forgive the technical jargon) which must be inserted with the notched portion in about the 9 o'clock position. Then, if the wall switch is on the disposal runs. It seems very safe because the motor will not chew up anything unless the plug is definitely "in". Lately, however it jkeeps spinning after removing the plug. What is going on here? Do I need a new disposal?
