We have our own well and have a lot of problems with rust stains. I use Whink Rust Stain Remover (it comes in a rust colored bottle) and have had really good results with it. The directions state to only use it on white sinks and white toilet bowls or on colorfast fabrics. The stains just disappear instantly!
