If the gas pressure is correct, then the air adjustment is open too far. : I have a 6 yr old gas water heater and recently (today) the pilot light gets blown out by the main burner. : The burner kind of sputters as it burns, but it has a blue flame. I called a plumber to come fix, he took it : apart and looked at it and said it all looked okay and thought it was something wrong with the gas coming in. : I had the gas company come out and they checked the pressure and for water in the line (outside) and : said it was all okay. Anyone have any ideas. It's like the burner flame is too strong - the flame is actually : about 1/4 " from the orifice on some points. (sorry for the wordeness) - david
