I have a 6 yr old gas water heater and recently (today) the pilot light gets blown out by the main burner. The burner kind of sputters as it burns, but it has a blue flame. I called a plumber to come fix, he took it apart and looked at it and said it all looked okay and thought it was something wrong with the gas coming in. I had the gas company come out and they checked the pressure and for water in the line (outside) and said it was all okay. Anyone have any ideas. It's like the burner flame is too strong - the flame is actually about 1/4 " from the orifice on some points. (sorry for the wordeness) - david |
