I replaced the drain and overflow seals in my tub and now have a leak where two horizontal pipes are connected, one leads to the vertical pipe going into the ground or up to the overflow and the other leads to the tub drain. There is a nut on the pipes where the leak is. I tried to loosen it by hand and with a channel locks and am concerned that I may break something. The pipes are a black plastic and are presumably 23 years old. Should I force this nut off or take other action. The leak happens when water runs down the drain.
