Copper tubing Type K or L conforming to ASTM B88 or ASTM B280 is allowed by 306.2 of the standard gas code, but bazing materials should not contain phosphorus, and should have a melting point > 1000 F. The code specifies that ventless fireplaces should be installed in accordance with the manufacturers instructions. : We had a ventless fireplace installed, the installers used copper pipe inside the house to run gas lines, we are useing propane. Will the copper pipe meet code,and is it safe. Also they buried some pipe underground.
