If you had a vacuum instead of air/water discharge, you do not have enough pressure in the system. Adjust the water filler pressure setting. : Got this old Victorian house with the radiator heat,gas boiler which is great; love it. One of my radiators at the highest point (back bathroom) did heat and quit. I bleed the air valve and instead of blowing out it had a vaccum. Did the purge water from the pump but don't seem to help. I don't think it is blocked. Could I have other problems?
