You have to know the size of the radiator in footage. Width, height, number of tubes or columns per section, and the number of sections. Then you calculate the equivalence based on the operating water temperature.
: I am in the process of remodeling a bathroom, and would like to replace a cast iron radiator with baseboard hot water heater. Could someone help me in determining how long a radiator I need to install to adequately heat the room? The room is 6' by 9', north facing, with one vinyl thermopane window, 30" by 60". The 2 by 6 wall is clapboard sheathed, with blown-in cellulose insulation. the interior wall has two sheets of half inch gypsum, and a layer of plaster.
