If you have high pressure, then the only thing a PRV will do is slow down the amount of water that leaks out of the pinholes. They are not being caused by pressure. : My area in Montgomery County, MD has had an epidemic of pinholes since our water authority replaced the water mains and flushed some chemical into the system. Our plumber mentioned a pressure regulator as an alternative to replacing the pipes. We are in a ranch house with no basement. The pipes enter by the kitchen, then cross the house in the attic.
