If the water is off, then there cannot be water damage. At least until you return and restore the water supply. You should have no problem as long as the heating system does not fail and allow the pipes to freeze and break.
: We currently own a single family home in Columbus,Ohio area. We are planning for extended vacations in Nov.-Dec., and will be out of the country for almost 2 months.
: To make it sure that in our absence there is no water damage in our house, we are planning to shut off the water in our house at the basement. We do not know anything about plumbing. Is this is a good approach. Any disadvantages to this. We will set our heat to 65 degrees in our absence. Please let us know any web pointers which give useful information related to this area.
