Toto Ulitmate - flushing noise

We recently purchased a Toto Ultimate to replace a Kohler Wellworth which required plunging on a regular basis. The Toto flushes much better than the Kohler, but is significantly louder - the water makes a lot of noise going thru the trap. I tried just pouring a bucket of water down the toilet and observed the same noise level - hard to describe, really, it just sounds louder and different than any other toilet I've experienced. Is this normal with the Toto? I installed it myself and wonder if I might have not seated it properly over the waste pipe.
