: A hacksaw will take forever and if you use a sawzall, you will want to get 8 tooth metal cutting blades. The finer ones will just polish it as you found out. The easier option is a san soil pipe cutter. : : Hi, : : This is embarrassing. I need to cut a two inch castiron drain pipe. I have started cutting it with 24, 28, and 32 tooth per inch hack saw blades. While in an awkward position, I am not weak and have cut a good deal with this humble tool. So, what is the story on cast iron pipe. True, when I went to get some new 32 tooth blades, only ACE hardware was open, but right now the blades only scrape off the black paint. I have used Sawzalls at work for about everything, but, I cannot use my work tools for home huse. Any suggestions. : : Cal what the hell is a san soil pipe cutter
