: We are planning on installing a bathtub enclosure. Do we need to remove the existing tile before installing? The existing tile does have cracks in it. Do we need to replace the drywall behind the tiles? Or can we install directly over the existing tiles? Any advise would be great. Thanks.

You shouldn't refrain from doing the funist part. Is funist a word even? Just rip that sucker drywall and tile out! Check the wood, replace the tub faucet, install new backer board, and then tile. It's the "right" way to do it.
