I am planning to install fireplace gas logs. I will use soft copper, like other appliances in home. The manifold is black pipe. I plan to attach another tap in the manifold and run 1/2" copper to a floor valve near the fireplace. I will then reduce down the line to 3/8" copper, the same size as line supplied with the logs. I will run 3/8" to a right angle flange fitting to turn it to run into the firebox from outside through the sidewall. I plan to pressure the line before attached to the manifold. QUESTIONS: Any problems with what I plan? How much pressure should I apply to test the line, the working pressure is 2 PSI? |
