Shower base leak?

I have a three-story townhouse with a bathroom in the master bedroom on the third floor. A leak developed in that bathroom that I thought I fixed by replacing the shower drain. Unfortunately, a leak still remains. I opened the ceiling and the leak is coming from a point well to the left of the shower drain. I have replaced the shower door and re-caulked everything that doesn't move, but the leak continues, could the shower base have a leak? I can't see anything obvious, and if so, what can be done short of replacing the base. Thanks for any help Lane
