The only difference between low, medium, and high is how long the burner operates. You have a ventilation problem and after the heater operates for a while, the carbon monoxide gas from the heater is putting itself out. Give the heater area more air, and get a carbon monoxide detector for the house. : we have a two year old gas water heater. the pilot light goes out when set on med. or high. if set on low it it fine but the water isnt;t hot enough. we replace the coupling and we still have the same problem. what elese could be causeing this. : thank you,
