Bill:---Is the corrosion on the external surface of the pipe, or is corroding from the inside out ?
If it is an external problem, look for the cause such as high Chlorine in that area due to laundry facilities in that area. If you have a gas furnace ..water heater or laundry dryer, there may be a problem with vent gasses causing the problem (it is not uncommon to have an unvented laundry dryer corrosive fumes due to incomplete combustion because of lint that accumulates on the air/gas mixture adjustment for the main burner. Internal corrosion can be dealt with in other ways if indicated. Bud...
