Unless the water is running through it constantly, then it will be okay for intermittent flow. Also water flowing through a drain is mixing with air that moderates the temperature. : I have read that you cannot use PVC for hot water service. My question is- why is it ok to use it for DWV if it comes in contact with the same temperature water that comes from the "hot" side of a faucet (when no cold water is mixed in.)?
