|In response to Re: Want to move my gas water heater over-flue safety|
It's just a simple flue, 3" dia. There is no power blower installed. I moved it to its new location and the move distance is less than 5". I was able to use a pair of 45 degree bends and it seems to draft fine. Even when the wind blows it induces even more of a draft. I guess the vent cap has a great deal to do with that.
: You don't say whether you have a power-vented unit or just venting to a flue. I doubt if moving it a few feet you are going to change things much, but we can't see it from here. If you have any question, call your gas company.
: : I am interested in moving my natural gas water heater over a few feet. What is the safe limit to number of bends and minimum pitch for the flue to remove combustion gasses safely. The heater is indoors in the same room as the gas dryer and I am installing an additional vent to the rest of the house to allow for adequete air makeup for combustion.
