: I wish to install a laundry sink in my basement. The 3" main drain stack is about 2 feet from where I would place the sink. I have read various messages on this site and it sounds like typically you shouldn't wet vent basement bathrooms. Does this also apply for a humble sink drain? Thanks for your advice.

I would add a vent or a AAV like the Studor vent. Terry
