|In response to Re: Lead Sweep|
: When I removed my toilet in the bathrom to install ceramic tile, I discovered what I think is a lead sweep attached to a 4-inch cast iron drain pipe. Because the builder did not fasten this arrangement to the floor, the movement of the toilet over the years appears to have broken the lead, leaving only about 1/2 of it protruding about an inch above the level of the concerete floor. The remainder has broken off at the floor line. What is involved in fixing this, or should I hire a plumber to do it? Does anyone know approx. how much a plumber would charge to fix this and reseat the toilet? I live in the Dallas area.
Repairing a lead bend is better left to a plumber.
