: I bought a new house and noticed that the drain fixture in my soak tub is more than quarter inch off center. The home inspector said this is leak prone. The builder is not prepared to correct this problem because it would involve moving the piping underneath. My greatest concern is not the cosmetic but the likelihood of leak. Whats determines leaks in these cases, is if the upper and lower attachment to the tub fit flush with the tub. Some drains on jetted tubs are fitted at extreme angles because of the distance between the lower and top fitting. What matters is only the points that attach. Filling the tub to the top will determine if there is a problem. I would guess the plumber has already tested the tub and found it to hold water. Terry
