Fiberglass shower/tub install

We have guttted our bathroom to bear studs, do we put up WR drywall behind shower stall or attach stall directly to studs?
Also how do I attach stall to wall? I know I need mortar to set tub but after I install 2x6 sub floor do I also need a sheet of ply
before the stall goes in? I hope these are not stupid questions.
