    Firestopping collars won't fit around hubs of fittings??

    Our fire department requires firestopping collars around any ABS pipe that goes through walls and ceilings. But, they don't require collars on PVC pipe 3" or smaller.     Would you regard this as safe if properly bonded? I installed it this week and I'm supposed to get it connected tomorrow to the gas line but after doing more research I wish I would've went with TracPipe Counterstrike for the added protection against lightening. I plan to bond it to my water...
