Tub and shower drain

I am installing a seperate jacuzzi tub and shower where there was just a one piece unit before. My question is do I need to install seperate drains for each unit now or can I hook them both off the same 2" drain from the original tub/shower stall.The new drains will be within a few feet of the original drain.
