Greetings,

We are remodeling our kitchen - part of the project is to take out some existing walls. One of the wall encloses a 3" soil & waste line. Ideally, we'd like to divert the line in the floor above about 3-4' to have it go down in a new location. Are there any issues with doing this? What kind of gradient do we have to maintain on the horizontal piece? Does this increase the chances of clogging, etc?

Thanks in advance for any tips!

Cheers,

One of the issues is that unless it is an unusual pipe, you will not be able to "turn" it above the ceiling so it will still have to be enclosed somehow.
