My Welltrol pressure tank sweats in high humidity throughout the summer. Is there anything I can purchase to insulate the tank to keep it dry or keep the condensation from dripping onto the floor?

This Welltrol tank is in the corner of my laundry room and it's practically up against the wall. The adjacent room is the Family Room and I'm prety sure the condensation has seeped under the wood parquet flooring in the Family Room. Smells quite moldy and musty in that corner.

By the way, what's the average life expectancy of a Welltrol Tank? Mine's 17 years old.

Thanks

You could get a pan that a water heater sits in and put the tank in it. At least that would catch the water and not ruin your floor. Is there no where you could move it to outside that would work?

You might could insulate it but I dont know if that would work or not.

Set a fan where it will circulate air around the tank. That will keep it from sweating so bad.

There's no way around the tank sweating, best course is what PRD said.
Put a pan under it, mop out excess water periodically, or if possible connect a 1" drain outside.

You can insulate it. I don't know where to tell you to get a blanket to do so, but I know they exist. Insulate the tank from the outside air and it will quit sweating.

sweating water tank.

Insulation that will keep the outside layer above the due point of the ambient temperature will work.
See if the blankets that are available to keep hot water tanks from cooling can fit your tank.

I had the same problem with my tank in my basement ang solved the problem by wrapping it with corrigated cardboard fastened with duct tape. Not pretty, but it works.
